Pipeline Stages
Understanding the candidate stages in a pipeline and how to move candidates between them.
Every candidate in a pipeline is assigned a stage that reflects where they are in your hiring process. RecruiteeAI uses six standard stages.
| Stage | Meaning |
|---|---|
| New | Candidate has just been added to the pipeline and hasn't been reviewed yet. |
| Screening | Candidate is being screened — typically awaiting or in the process of an AI interview or assessment. |
| Interview | Candidate has passed initial screening and is scheduled for a team interview. |
| Offer | Candidate has been selected and an offer has been or will be extended. |
| Hired | Candidate accepted the offer and was hired. |
| Rejected | Candidate was not selected at any stage. |
Moving a candidate to a different stage
- 1
Open the candidate profile
Click the candidate's name anywhere in the pipeline or candidate list.

- 2
Click "Change Stage"
Find the stage indicator at the top of the candidate profile and click it, or look for the "Change Stage" button.

- 3
Select the new stage
Choose the stage you'd like to move the candidate to from the dropdown.

- 4
Add a note (optional)
You can add a note to explain why you're moving the candidate. This is recorded in their activity history.
Bulk stage changes
You can move multiple candidates at once. In the pipeline view, select candidates using the checkboxes, then use the bulk action toolbar that appears at the bottom of the screen to change stages for all selected candidates.
Rejected candidates are not deleted — they remain in the pipeline and can be reviewed or moved back to another stage if circumstances change.
