Managing Pipeline Status
How to pause, reactivate, or close a pipeline when hiring is on hold or complete.
Pipelines have three statuses: Active, Paused, and Closed. Managing status keeps your dashboard clean and prevents accidental activity on roles you're no longer filling.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | The role is open and the pipeline is in use. Candidates can be added and moved through stages. |
| Paused | Hiring is temporarily on hold. The pipeline and all its candidates are preserved but the role is not being actively worked. |
| Closed | The role has been filled or cancelled. The pipeline is archived. |
Pausing a pipeline
- 1
Open the pipeline
Navigate to the pipeline you want to pause.
- 2
Find the status controls
Look for the pipeline status indicator near the top of the pipeline page, or in the pipeline settings.

- 3
Select "Pause"
Click "Pause Pipeline" or select "Paused" from the status dropdown. The pipeline will be marked as paused and removed from the active list on the dashboard.
Closing a pipeline
- 1
Open the pipeline and select "Close"
Click "Close Pipeline" from the pipeline status options.

- 2
Select a close reason
Choose the reason for closing: Position Filled, Cancelled, Budget Cut, Requirements Changed, or Other.

- 3
Add closing notes (optional)
Add any context for your team about why the pipeline was closed.
You can reactivate a paused or closed pipeline at any time by changing its status back to Active.
