What AI interviews are, how they work, and when to use them.
AI Interviews are automated first-round video interviews conducted by RecruiteeAI's AI interviewer. Instead of spending recruiter time on initial screening calls, the AI conducts a structured video interview with each candidate, asks role-relevant questions, transcribes the conversation, and produces an analysis with a recommendation.
How AI interviews work
- 1. You create an interview link for a candidate and send it via email.
- 2. The candidate clicks the link and joins a video session at a time convenient for them (no scheduling required by default).
- 3. The AI interviewer greets the candidate, asks a series of role-specific questions, and listens to their responses via speech-to-text.
- 4. The full conversation is transcribed and stored.
- 5. After the interview completes, the AI analyzes the transcript and produces scores, a summary, and a hire/no-hire recommendation.
- 6. You review the results in the Interviews section of your dashboard.
When to use AI interviews
- First-round screening — Replace phone screens with a structured, consistent AI interview for every candidate.
- High-volume hiring — Screen many candidates quickly without recruiter bandwidth constraints.
- Async screening — Let candidates complete interviews on their own schedule, 24/7.
- Consistency — Ensure every candidate gets asked the same questions in the same way.
What the AI measures
- Communication skills and clarity of expression.
- Relevant experience aligned to the pipeline criteria.
- Responses to role-specific technical or behavioral questions.
- Overall suitability based on the full conversation.
